Real Estate Salesperson License Requirement  
 

The requirements for the real estate salesperson license can be found on the Department of Real Estate website at http://www.dre.ca.gov/exm_sales.html.

To satisfy the education requirements for the salesperson license, an applicant must first complete the following three courses:

  • Real Estate Principles, and
  • Real Estate Practice, and
  • One course from the following list:
    • Real Estate Appraisal
    • Property Management
    • Real Estate Finance
    • Real Estate Economics
    • Legal Aspects of Real Estate
    • Real Estate Office Administration
    • General Accounting
    • Business Law
    • Escrows
    • Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending
    • Computer Applications in Real Estate
    • Common Interest Developments

    Currently, Long Beach City College offers all of these courses except Real Estate Office Administration, Computer Applications in Real Estate, and Common Interest Developments. Computer Applications in Real Estate and Common Interest Developments (Homeownership Association Management) are planned to be offered beginning in fall, 2009.
